The silicone insert consists of two halves that interlock. They are not mirror images of each other though. One side is mainly ribbed and angular, the end furthest from the opening terminating in what Tenga refer to as the “End Orb”, the opposite half of the insert is covered in hemispherical bobbles with names like “Click Orb” and “Quattro Wave”. Each of these different shapes come into play when you use the Flip and apply pressure to one or more of the hard plastic buttons on the outside of the case.
Cleaning is easy, warm water and soap then hang the Flip on its stand to dry. No propping it at an angle on the side of a bath like other toys after its post-use cleansing.
This toy beats every other masturbator we have seen. It’s controllable, sensual and cleverly designed. Our only reservation is the name. Everyone We've talked to refers to it as the Flip,
not the Flip Hole. We assume it’s a “lost in translation” thing, but I can’t apply “Hole” to this toy, the insert is almost a work of art not some anonymous latex orifice that you’d find on a cheap masturbator.If we had to make one criticism it is that the hinge on the flip is plastic and I suspect may not be as durable as the rest of the toy. The history of vibrators - Not many are aware why they were invented - and you would be suprised as well !!

I am this week giving a lecture at the Cheltenham Science Festival on the science and history of vibrators, and through my research I have come to realise that, above all, the vibrator story reflects men's changing attitudes towards women.It starts hysterically with “womb furie”. Hippocrates thought the womb wasn't a fixed item but wandered about the body looking for trouble. At the moment of orgasm, it gripped the windpipe causing the breathless panting so familiar to watchers of When Harry Met Sally. From earliest times there was a recognised women's complaint characterised by nervousness, fluid retention, insomnia and lack of appetite. Hippocrates thought that a blockage in the womb was the cause of it, hence it was called hysteria from the Greek for womb (hysteros). Galen, a Greek physician, claimed it was caused by sexual deprivation, particularly in passionate women, and was noted in nuns, virgins, widows and occasionally in married women whose husbands were not up to the job.Massage to “paroxysm” was the ticket. “Arising from the touch of the genital organs required by the treatment, there follows twitchings accompanied at the same time by pain and pleasure...from that time she is free of all the evil she felt,” proclaimed Galen.The trouble was that doctors regarded this treatment as numbingly tedious. Bringing a woman to paroxysm by hand could, understandably, take for ever. It was a job that required stamina and not a little patience. And, significantly, because it took so long, it wasn't lucrative enough for doctors who needed to see many patients to achieve a reasonable income.And masturbation (by either sex) was regarded as wrong. It was not only a moral affront but something that was thought of as constitutionally dangerous, enfeebling mind and body. “Women [with hysteria] should not resort to rubbing,” said Avicenna, the Muslim scholar and founder of early modern medicine. Swedish state to sell sex toys
Sweden's state-owned pharmacy chain, Apoteket, has said it plans to help satisfy Swedes by adding sex toys to its shelves.
The one-year sales trial will start in June at 50 selected Apoteket stores around the country, they said on Thursday.
It was not clear what type of products would be available.
Apoteket said customer surveys had showed that many Swedes found Apoteket a natural vendor for sex-related products.
'We want to de-dramatize the use of sex help tools, and help people to a better sex life, with or without a partner,' Apoteket spokeswoman Eva Fernvall said in a statement.
'We know that a good sex life is important for well-being and health and Apoteket sees this as an important part of a wider selection of health-related products and services,' she said.
The selection of sex toys has been developed in cooperation with the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education.
