Vibration-Station Undergoes a Make Over !!

A Level of confusion this week then at Vibration-Station.co.uk following an attempt at a name change to http://www.getmeoff.co.uk.

The name change was originally proposed as it was felt initially that http://www.vibration-station.co.uk was maybe a little long winded and we were seeking something a little more catchy. We did all of our revision and came up with what we thought was a funky name that people would remember in Get Me Off. Dont get us wrong, we are proud of Vibration-Station and its name, it has done well and gone from strength to strength, its just we thought something a little more catchy would ensure we remain at the forefront of visitor's minds for future requirements.

We went live with the name and the new layout to the site at approx 1200 hrs Saturday 28th February 2009 & notified all of the customer base of the change and how it may have affected them, and within approximately 4 - 5 hours we had changed the site back to good old Vibration-Station.co.uk.

Why ???

We recieved a few e-mails stating that they thought the new name for the site may have been a little "in your face". On careful consideration and baring in mind the last thing we want to do is to cause offence we reverted back to our original name. e suppose also it is beneficial from an operational point of view in some ways in that we do not need to manually update eisting links with other sites and change alot of wording on site.

So there you have it - for any of you who were wondering, thats the reason why perhaps the quickest ever change of business name in history came about. !

We shall however over the coming months be launching seperate sites that are more dedicated to each gender and sexual preferences so be sure to keep an eye out for them !!

I am this week giving a lecture at the Cheltenham Science Festival on the science and history of vibrators, and through my research I have come to realise that, above all, the vibrator story reflects men's changing attitudes towards women.It starts hysterically with “womb furie”. Hippocrates thought the womb wasn't a fixed item but wandered about the body looking for trouble. At the moment of orgasm, it gripped the windpipe causing the breathless panting so familiar to watchers of When Harry Met Sally. From earliest times there was a recognised women's complaint characterised by nervousness, fluid retention, insomnia and lack of appetite. Hippocrates thought that a blockage in the womb was the cause of it, hence it was called hysteria from the Greek for womb (hysteros). Galen, a Greek physician, claimed it was caused by sexual deprivation, particularly in passionate women, and was noted in nuns, virgins, widows and occasionally in married women whose husbands were not up to the job.Massage to “paroxysm” was the ticket. “Arising from the touch of the genital organs required by the treatment, there follows twitchings accompanied at the same time by pain and pleasure...from that time she is free of all the evil she felt,” proclaimed Galen.The trouble was that doctors regarded this treatment as numbingly tedious. Bringing a woman to paroxysm by hand could, understandably, take for ever. It was a job that required stamina and not a little patience. And, significantly, because it took so long, it wasn't lucrative enough for doctors who needed to see many patients to achieve a reasonable income.And masturbation (by either sex) was regarded as wrong. Be aware that some partners may feel threatened by a toy, so reassure them that it's not a replacement for them, but an added bonus for both of you. Toys are an accepted part of people's sex lives today; they're even given out by the NHS in some areas.

Vibrators
Vibrators are the most popular type of sex toy. Women generally use them for clitoral stimulation, or to penetrate the vagina or anus.
